Lighthouse Recovery Program FAQ’s

About the Lighthouse Recovery Program
The Lighthouse Recovery Program at the Las Vegas Rescue Mission is a Christian-based, six-month residential drug and alcohol treatment program serving both men and women in the Las Vegas area. The program combines structured living, work therapy, and clinical care under one roof, staffed by state-licensed clinicians, case managers, peer support specialists, and pastoral staff. Rooted in the belief that lasting change is possible for everyone, the program's mission is guided by three core principles: Redemption, Recovery, and Restoration.

A Person-Centered Approach to Treatment
At LVRM's Lighthouse Recovery Program, treatment is built around each individual. Clinicians utilize person-centered approaches and individualized treatment planning alongside evidence-based models including Therapeutic Community and Work Therapy. The goal is to help each resident build a strong foundation for long-term sobriety, heal through individualized care, develop healthy relationships and life skills, and experience spiritual support in a Christ-centered environment. Group therapy sessions — covering topics such as trauma, boundaries, relapse prevention, healthy communication, and stress management — are held on a weekly basis, consistent with SAMHSA guidelines.

Faith-Based Recovery with Celebrate Recovery
A cornerstone of the Lighthouse program is Celebrate Recovery (CR), a Christ-centered approach that addresses all aspects of recovery — including hurts, habits, and hang-ups. CR integrates the traditional twelve steps with the eight principles drawn from Jesus' Sermon on the Mount. Residents also participate in Chapel services, Morning Devotions, and biblical group sessions. While participants are not required to be Christian, they are asked to remain open to the program's faith-based foundation and to respect its Christian environment.

Evidence-Based Practices and Clinical Standards
The Lighthouse Recovery Program applies rigorous clinical standards and nationally recognized assessment tools. These include the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5-TR) for diagnosis, the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) criteria for level-of-care placement, and validated screening tools for depression, anxiety, suicide risk, and adverse childhood experiences (ACEs). Group curriculum includes Program Orientation, ACE Overcomers, Seeking Safety, Helping Men Recover, Bible 101, SMART Recovery, and Transition and Relapse Prevention — ensuring a well-rounded, evidence-informed path to sobriety.

Who Can Apply and What to Expect
The Lighthouse Recovery Program currently offers 111 beds for men and 19 beds for women, filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Applicants must be clean and sober upon entry. Residents live on-site for the duration of the program and are not permitted to work outside the facility, as the focus remains entirely on recovery. The program carries minimal costs — residents with income are asked to make monthly contributions, while those without may contribute through EBT/SNAP — and LVRM will never turn away anyone for inability to pay. Personal electronics are secured in storage during the program, and residents are encouraged to bring a week's worth of clothing and alcohol-free personal hygiene items.

One of our primary objectives is to touch as many lives as possible with the love of Jesus Christ.
The Mission has a full-time pastor on staff. Daily Bible study classes and sessions are facilitated by caring staff and volunteers.
