Gift Processing Assistant (P/T – 20hrs a week, during standard business hours & in office only)

LVRM is a private, faith-based organization that serves our community by offering a safe place for men and women to break the cycle of homelessness and addiction. Our Development team oversees all aspects of marketing, fundraising, events, volunteers and working with directly with donors.

The Gift Processing Assistant is responsible for all gift entry from donors, clean-up of the database, running reports and analytics as well as working with our marketing company to ensure data is captured for both the direct mail and digital campaigns. This position reports directly to the Director of Development. The Gift Processing Assistant must comply with all standards and directions specified by the Director of Development and Mission policy.

The Gift Processing Assistant must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, in a Christian, professional manner with other facility staff members, Mission residents, volunteers, donors, and customers.

Tasks include but not limited to:

  • Enter all monetary donations that are received via various channels (including over the phone), into Raiser’s Edge NXT (donor database)
  • Ensure all donor updates are made in timely manner. This includes but not limited to name and address changes etc.
  • Pull third party gift reports and enter them into the database.
  • Process recurring and credit card donations and approving gift batches.
  • Run reporting for Acknowledgement/thank you letters of each gift on a weekly basis and generate them via mail-merge, then prepare the letters for mailing (year-end mailings included).
  • Letters for donors with specific requests.
  • Run multiple reports on a set schedule or as needed including those for the Director of Development
  • Perform regular clean-up of the database i.e. merge duplicate records etc.
  • Tracking in-kind donations from the Thrift Store and Kitchen
  • Staying up to date on training within RENXT
  • Ad Hoc projects as determined by the Director of Development, including but not exclusive to participation in fundraising events.

Skills, Abilities, and Special Talents:

  • Database experience (minimum 1 year preferred).
  • Raiser’s Edge NXT experience is a plus but not essential as training will be provided.
  • Able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as a valuable team member
  • Excellent verbal, written interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional time management.
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects with accuracy.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Have a passion to help those in need, and a commitment to the values of LVRM.
  • Able to maintain a professional attitude in dealing with those internally and externally.
  • Demonstrates behaviors aligned with LVRM employment policies and standard

This is a part-time position for 20 hours per week that will need to be completed during business hours which are Monday to Friday between 8:30am and 5:00pm.  The exact hours will be discussed at interview and during the hiring process.  Salary is commensurate with skills and experience.
